The home team took an early lead when Magnus Gustafssons scored from the penalty spot. It was not until the sixty-fourth minute that United levelled the scores, when Ian Harte held his nerve to score from the penalty spot. United only made two changes, at Half-Time David Wetherall was replaced by Robert Molenaar at Centre Half and in the eightieth minute Alan Maybury replaced Gary Kelly at Outside Right.
